Azam Rwanda Premier League side, Espoir FC have suspended head coach Jimmy Ndayizeye as the club struggles for results that has left them bottom of the league table with 8 points from 10 matches.

Burundian Ndayizeye joined the Rusizi-based club last season on a one-year contract before signing a three-year contract extension at the start of the current campaign.

After Djuma Masudi, who won the league with Rayon Sports after losing just once in the league, Ndayizeye was named the second best coach after guiding Espoir the semifinals of Peace Cup after eliminating defending champions, Rayon Sports.

According to Espoir FC president, Marcel Bizimana, the management decided to suspend the coach for the next two league matches to allow him to "refresh and comeback with better ideas.”

"Before he signed the new contract, we set a target with him to finish among of top five in league, but after ten matches, we find ourselves at the bottom of the table, so we have decided to suspend him for two games,” Bizimana said.

Bizimana confirmed that assistant coach Francois Kalisa will be in charge of the next two league matches against Amagaju FC and Musanse respectively.

Espoir FC finished in eighth place with 39 points last season after winning nine, drawing 12 and losing 12 matches.
