Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s flames, a Christmas drama presentation by Christian Life Assembly attracted up to 10,000 attendees and of these, 527 gave their lives to Jesus.
The play run for five days and ended on Christmas Eve at the Nyarutarama based church. The play depicts what happens in life after death: heaven for those who accept Jesus Christ, and hell for those who refuse to believe.
The turn up was quite higher compared to last year’s Christmas cantata, which attracted 8,000 people.
Characterized by high quality lighting and sound, as well as an appealing message, those who attended enjoyed it right from the start, with a number of them reaching out to social media platforms to express their satisfaction, as well as inviting friends to come and attend.
Reactions from people
"Christmas is here and CLA Rwanda #HGHF250 is showing for the last time at 6:00pm. Christ's gift of Eternal Life is the reason for the season,” one Gloria Iribagiza posted on twitter.
Another, Denise Tuyi described the show as heart-warming and touching;
"You know a show is heart-warming and touching if it can tug at your heart and remind you of what awaits you ahead in hope and awe but also make you laugh at the so relatable antics that are in our days.”
Bob Rutarindwa, who also attended commented on the presentation, pointing out that it was a "great story and acting.”
For Christine Amira, the presentation was soul searching,
"The HGHF (Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s flames) play was soul searching, with a deep message to think about especially during this festive season. What the scriptures say is real. So, as Christians we need to choose life over death & remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.”
Heaven's Gates, Hell's Flames has been performed worldwide and it has been playing to packed auditoriums around the world for more than 30 years.
The CLA shows were free and open to the public.
