Volleyball national league champions Gisagara have signed two foreign players, including right attacker Ongom Ivan Bob from Sport-S in Uganda and Center Nicolas Matui from water Club in Kenya, both on two-year contract.

The pair’s signing was confirmed by Gisagara VC head coach Fidele Nyirimana, noting that they will join their teammates for training in the first week of next month. The men’s league is set to start on January 13.

"We have signed these players in a bid to boost the strength of the squad. They are good players and I hope they will be of great value to us in the upcoming busy competitive season,” said Nyirimana.

Gisagara have been busy during the off-season, strengthening their team with several new players, namely; Vincent Dusabimana and Eugene Tuyishimire, both from University of Kibungo (UNIK).

Others include; Yves Niyonkuru and Peter Bigirimana from Rwanda Energy Group (REG) and Nelson Murangwa from Tricolorul LMV Ploiesti in Romania.

Debutants Gisagara shocked Kirehe VC to win the national league playoff finals last season and will represent Rwanda at next year’s CAVB Club Championships along with women’s league champions Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA).
