It is a scene of laughter and tears for those who turn up to watch Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames drama, which is being staged at Christian Life Assembly (CLA), Nyarutarama main auditorium.

The evangelistic drama, which starts at exactly 6p.m every day, kicks off with Christ’s crucifixion that depicts the importance of finding salvation, while still on earth.

Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames is a play that portrays life after death.

The play, which has attracted thousands of people since its launch on Wednesday, is characterized by high quality lighting and the sound. The stage was decorated in gold and silver bright colours enhanced by depiction of angels in Heaven, while hell was depicted as a terrifyingly and desolate scene in red and black with flames of fire.

It takes the form of a series of skits in which various characters from different walks of life are "unexpectedly" killed, and then immediately find out whether they are destined for heaven or hell. The scenes are so real and this is what makes it a great play. Lucifer’s angels are as frightening as the tales we have heard about them since childhood and heaven is pleasant.

If they refused to believe in Jesus Christ and follow through God’s commandments, they are consequently sent to hell. If they have received Jesus as Lord and savior, they are ushered into Heaven, depicted by a white-robed Jesus, dazzling white lights and a chorus of angels.

At the end of the play, Pastor Amos Kajuga asked the congregation to make a decision to trust Jesus and be born again, based on the gospel as illustrated by what they have seen and over 70 people gave their lives to Christ.

Heaven's Gates, Hell's Flames has been performed worldwide and it has been playing to packed auditoriums around the world for more than 30 years.

The five-day drama runs till Sunday, December 24. The shows are free and open to the public. Performances start at 6pm every day.
