APR's Jean Bosco Ruboneka is keen on improving his game and scoring more goals this season as he seeks to establish himself as one of the country’s most prolific strikers.
Ruboneka has scored four goals; three in the league and one in a Peace Cup game.
He established himself as one of the players APR can rely on when he scored the lone goal that helped APR beat Police FC Police 1-0 on January 21, days after scoring another match-winner during his side’s 1-0 win over AS Kigali, on January 17.
"I won't forget those two goals. It's been a long time coming. Hopefully, I can push on now and get some more. I'm over the moon personally, getting goals to help my club, but we still have a long way to go, and following the results we have is a massive positive for us," Ruboneka said.
Ruboneka scored important goals against Marines FC on February 7, against Police on January 21, against AS Kigali in the Peace Cup on January 17, and against Musanze on October 6.
"It was a relief. I've been playing a bit deeper so I've kind of chilled out a bit going forward. Hopefully, I can keep scoring for my club and keep assisting others, but the main thing is the team and the results, ” he added, noting that he hopes to be the league top scorer.
He, however, faces stiff competition from Salomon Adeyinka of Musanze FC, Serge Kabanda of Gasogi, and AS Kigali’s Jean Bosco Akayezu who all had outstanding performances in January.
