After seeing his side register two consecutive wins from the rescheduled matches against Police FC and Amagaju FC, Rayon Sports head coach Olivier Karekezi believes his team is on the right course but expressed concern over a tight fixture schedule over the coming days.

The Azam Rwanda Premier League defending champions moved up to the fourth place following a slim 1-0 away win against Amagaju FC in Nyamagabe on Sunday with 14 points, two behind joint leaders AS Kigali and SC Kiyovu, who face off on Tuesday.

Forward Djabel Manishimwe scored the all-important goal against Amagaju in the 79th minute. Karekezi’s team return to action on Wednesday facing seventh-placed Etincelles at Umuganda Stadium.

Following their win over Amagaju, Karekezi said, "We won again Police (Thursday) and today against Amagaju and we have three more matches in a space of ten days, which is a tight schedule but I am confident we will battle on.”

After the match against Etincelles, Rayon Sports will play against Miroplast FC on December 23 and then Musanze FC, which was among the matches rescheduled to a yet to be set date.

Karekezi will be eager to welcome back two key players, Shassir Nahimana and Pierrot Kwizera, who have been with Burundi national team, which finished fourth in the just-concluded regional CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, which was won by hosts Kenya on Sunday.

"The focus is to keep winning, the players understand the current state of affairs and I think we’ll play the remaining games without pressure,” Karekezi added.
