ALTHOUGH Amavubi have already bowed out of the 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, they will take on Tanzania in the last match of Group A on Saturday at Machako Stadium, at 1pm.

Both Rwanda and Tanzania would need a football miracle for any one of them to qualify to the last four.

Tanzania will come into the game hoping to revenge against Rwanda, who eliminated them in the first round qualifiers of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) with 1-1 goal aggregate.

Amavubi head coach, Antoine Hey believes that he has picked positive from the last three games, especially the goalless draw on Thursday as he prepares the team for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2018 finals tournament in Morocco.

"We are not happy with the way things have gone, but we are working hard step by step. I noticed some promising things in Libya game, unfortunately we did not win but we created many chances. It was an interesting game for both teams,” Hey said after the Libya stalemate. The two sides, Rwanda and Libya are both preparing for CHAN. The two will meet again next month in the group stages of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Hey will undoubtedly come under some scrutiny after admitting that he didn’t go into the regional tournament to challenge for the title, but rather to experiment his squad, with only CHAN 2018 finals in his mind.

Some people will ask if at all, the German brings a winning mentality to the youthful team, but he seems to have the answer for them, "We want to win. It is a learning process and we have learnt a lot and we believe that by three or four weeks we will be ready for CHAN. It is a good lesson for our young players and we believe that if we keep working hard we will be ready.”

Talking about Tanzania game, former Kenya head coach, Hey admitted that, "The game will be another good test for us as we continue the building process of the team ahead of CHAN.”

Clearly learning lessons from their 3-1 humiliation at the hands of Zanzibar on Tuesday, Hey fielded a strong team, the same that played and lost 2-0 in the opening tie against Kenya’s Harambee Stars, last Sunday.

Libya (3 points) next faces Zanzibar, who are on six points from two straight wins, on Tuesday while Kenya (4) will be up against Tanzania (1)..
