Uganda 291 all out

Rwanda 15/8 (Press time)

Emmanuel Byiringiro has praised Rwanda’s temperament at this year’s ICC/ACA East Africa Women Cup despite yesterday’s heavy defeat against Uganda in Nairobi.

Rwanda dismissed the defending champions for a massive 291 runs in 33 overs but failed to build on that performance.

By press time, Rwanda looked shattered after managing a paltry 15runs for eight wickets. However, Byiringiro, Rwanda’s team manager insists that there are some positives to carry from the game.

"Of course we should not forget Uganda’s experience and the fact that they are the defending champions. However, I feel the batting was our major undoing. The fielding was good and the bowling was ok,” he said.

"This is a learning curve for us and we should make the most of it,” Byiringiro who also doubles as Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA)’s schools development officer said.
