Kagame names new education, ICT ministers

President Paul Kagame has dropped ministers Jean Philbert Nsegimana and Papias Musafiri from the cabinet according to a statement signed by the Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente.

President Paul Kagame has dropped ministers Jean Philbert Nsegimana and Papias Musafiri from the cabinet according to a statement signed by the Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente.

Nsengimana has been the minister of ICT while Musafiri was minister of education.

Eugene Mutimura, a researcher is the new Minister of Education while Jean de Dieu Rurangirwa is the new Minister of ICT.

The statement also noted the appointment of Olivier Kayumba as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Refugee Affairs while Francis Musoni as secretary general at Rwanda Demobilisation and Reintegration Commission.

In a tweet following the announcement, Nsengimana thanked President Kagame as the appointing authority for affording him the opportunity to serve.

"I am humbled by the modest contribution I have been able to make over the last 6 years. I remain totally committed to his vision.”
