To celebrate and promote Rwandan culture, an annual traditional concert dubbed ‘Gakondo Connect’ has emerged as a significant platform for showcasing the country's vibrant culture through dance and music.
This year’s concert is scheduled to take place at Atelier du Vin on February 25.
The concert, which is set to take place for the second time, is organized by Iganze Event Group. It will see a lineup of performers in Gakondo scene including Indashyikirwa, Suzanne Nyiranyamibwa, Victor Rukotana, Alouette Munganyinka and Audia Intore.

Lievin Niganze, the communications officer of Iganze Event Group told The New Times that the concert serves as a moving reminder of the importance of preserving and promoting Rwanda's cultural heritage.
"This event was structured differently than the previous edition; fans and traditional music enthusiasts will undoubtedly have a great time. We think that this concert will contribute to the ongoing efforts to preserve and promote our culture,” said Niganze.
He highlighted how the inaugural concert stood as a statement to nurture culture and fulfill its purpose. The concert successfully delivered outstanding performances from other traditional performers like Inyamibwa AERG, singer Alouette Munganyinka and legendary Gakondo musician Muyango.
Iganze Gakondo Group was founded in 2018 and comprises seven permanent members and other members who serve the group temporarily. They sing traditionally while playing different traditional instruments like ‘Inanga’ and drums.
