The Ministry of ICT and Innovation on February 16 welcomed eight new fellows as a part of our 3rd cohort of Digital Fellowship, a program with a vision to nurture future tech policy and innovation leaders who understand the nuances of both technology and governance.

To date, the digital fellowship has welcomed 18 fellows from a competitive pool of graduates from local and international universities.
The program offers candidates clear career paths with opportunities for skills development through career, leadership coaching, and project management exposure.
Fellows acquire skills in policy analysis, strategic thinking, communication, leadership, and innovation within the public service context.
The ultimate goal of investing in the fellows’ professional growth is to make the Ministry and affiliate agencies more competitive in attracting, developing, and retaining high-potential young professionals.
This is crucial for building a strong and diverse public service workforce capable of tackling complex challenges.

Seeing fellows thrive within the Ministry and beyond, shaping policies and joining prestigious tech organizations, is incredibly rewarding but the success goes deeper.
The program fosters inclusive talent development, attracting diverse minds who bring fresh perspectives and drive innovative solutions that benefit all Rwandans and contribute to the country’s vision in technology.
During their fellowship journey, fellows are guided by experienced professionals and immersed in real-world challenges. Additionally, they are surrounded by a supportive network of fellows and alumni, ready to share their experiences.
Fellows are encouraged to ask questions, challenge ideas, and accelerate innovations. They are empowered to think critically, explore creatively, and ultimately, shape the future of Rwanda's technology landscape. Indeed, the fellowship is more than just a program; it's a stepping stone to a fulfilling career and a chance to make a real difference.
With dedication, collaboration, and the support of our partners like GIZ, the Center for AI Policy and Innovation in Rwanda, and many others, together we can write the next chapter of Rwanda's digital revolution.
As we launch the third cohort, the fellowship will benefit from a new collaboration that moves us further: a partnership with Imcon Consulting to provide leadership coaching to both senior managers and fellows.
We are not stopping here, we call on other partners to join us in expanding the program's reach, offering deeper learning experiences for fellows, and fostering a strong alumni network.
