Unity Sports Club were held to a thrilling 2-2 draw by Aspor FC on match-day 4 in the second division league Pool A over the weekend at Kicukiro ground but still stayed top with eight points.

Hosts Aspor took the lead through left-back Jean de Dieu Ntakirutimana after 19 minutes, but striker Selman Ndayambaje equalized for Unity SC in the 38th minute.

After an evenly balanced first half, Aspor striker Patrick Mutijima put his side ahead for a second time, nine minutes into the second half and table leaders Unity equalized through forward striker Amani Niyonkuru after 70 minutes.

Unity Sports Club head coach Yves Namahoro said after the game that he was disappointed with the final result in a match that his team dominated.

"On Saturday we missed some key players who are part of Isonga Academy team that travelled to Ivory Coast and others were sitting for national exams but we still played well and we’re disappointed not to win,” said Namahoro.

Meanwhile, Rwamagana City FC, who had been promoted to the topflight league last season only to be demoted for fielding an illegible player during the semi-final play-off against Miroplast FC, were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Sorwathe FC.

Pepiniere FC, who were relegated from the Azam Rwanda Premier League last season, thrashed Gitikinyoni 4-0 to jump up to third place in Pool A with seven points, one behind leaders Unity.
