RnB duo Charly and Nina are set for a launch of their eagerly anticipated debut album, "Imbaraga”, this evening at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village, formerly Camp Kigali.
Award-winning Ugandan pop musician, Juliana Kanyomozi is headlining the show, which will also feature performances from Geosteady and Big Fizzo.
Juliana and her country-mate Geosteady, jetted in yesterday, while Burundi’s Big Fizzo arrived on Wednesday.
Alex Muyoboke of Decent Entertainment and the duo’s manager said he expects a big turn up for the event, given the high demand for the tickets. He added that Rwandans have been longing for the songstress and one of East Africa’s finest female artistes, Juliana who last performed in Kigali in 2013.
The album is a compilation of both new songs, and some of the group’s earlier favourites like Indoro, featuring Big Fizzo, and Owooma, featuring Ugandan singer Geosteady, and promises to be an irresistible listen.
Each track on this 10-track journey represents a self-contained narrative that, when pieced together, tells a much bigger story of the girl duo.
Nina described the event as the "Album launch of the year.”
"We want you to come and experience this baby that you have been supporting for the last four years on December 1,” she told The New Times.
Local artistes expected to perform at the concert are, Andy Bumuntu, Yvan Buravan, DJ Pius and the Neptunez Band.
