After finishing in fourth position last season, Espoir Basketball Club is seeking to improve this season as the new league campaign gets underway on Saturday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.
Espoir Basketball club will take on IPRC-South in their first match.
During the preseason tournament, Espoir finished in fourth position in Group B, after losing three games against IPRC-Kigali, REG BBC and 30 Plus.
Espoir coach, Maxime Mwiseneza, said the club will sign new players to build a strong team that can compete for the title.
"Before the league kick off, we will sign three players in order to strength the team. We have to add new players before Saturday,”Mwiseneza said.
Mwiseneza added, "We need to improve our squad to prepare well against the big teams.”
Espoir have boosted their team with new signings, including Olivier Iradukunda and Sylvain Shyaka, from IPRC South, and Shaffy Shaka and Eric Shema from CSKA basketball.
The team lost key players, including Olivier Shyaka, Jean Jacques Nshobozwabyosenumukiza, who joined REG, while Brain Mbanze and Emmanuel Yakaremye signed for APR Basketball Club.
Meanwhile, Patriots BBC, after winning third place in pre-season, will face UGB on Saturday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.
