In an energetic performance inside the New Life Bible Church in Kicukiro on Sunday, February 18, Burundian gospel musician Christophe Ndayishimiye captivated worship enthusiasts with his first concert in Rwanda after nine years.
The "Aca Inzira" concert was an experience that brought gospel lovers together to relax in the divine atmosphere.
Ndayishimiye, celebrated for his worship music in Rwanda and Burundi, initiated his musical journey in a Burundian church where he served as a drummer. Under the mentorship of Apollinaire Habonimana during Sunday school classes, he discovered his vocal talent, setting the stage for his impactful career.

The event commenced around 5 pm as attendees eagerly occupied the church in anticipating a soulful moment to worship. Concert host Yvan Ingenzi, a gospel singer known for his traditional style, brought concert goers into the mood with elevating songs.
It was at 6:30 pm when Ingenzi welcomed the first singer, Audry, who graced the stage with her curtain raising performance, setting the tone for the evening.
Audry, also part of Ndayishimiye's backup singers, had 10 minutes to entertain worshipers before leaving the stage for headliner Ndayushimiye.
The Burundian took the stage at 6:40 pm, delivering a captivating performance with songs like "Uhambaye” and "Nibwo Buzima.” He welcomed his fellow gospel artist and 'Best friend' Christian Nijimbere, to stage as they shared a performance of a couple of songs.
Ndayishimiye took a break and made way for Nijimbere who performed his composition, "Obligado,” loosely translated as ‘Thank you’, adding to the various musical textiles of the evening.
Concert host Ingenzi later introduced the preacher of the night, who shared words of God through various scriptures, enriching the spiritual experience for the attendees.
Notable gospel singers, including Gabby Kamanzi, Tonzi, and Jado Sinza, were among attendees who came to support the Burundian artist.
At around 9 pm, Ndayishimiye took another round on stage during which he welcomed the likes of Bosco Nshuti and Prosper Nkomezi for joint performances of their songs.
The singer kept the audience in a spirit of praise and worship until the concert closed 10 pm, leaving a long-lasting impression and admiration from concert goers.
