Rwanda’s U-20 team plays away to Tunisian premier club La Marsa in its first build up match due this afternoon at Stade Abdelaziz Chtioui.

La Marsa lost 1-2 to leaders Esperance last Friday in Round 12 of the Tunisian Premier League. La Marsa are in eleventh place with 12 points this season.

Marsa will be using this build up game to put them in shape ahead of their home fixture against relegation battling Gafsa on December 21.

The African youth championship squad goes into today’s test with an aim of assessing their ability ahead of next year’s continental youth championship due in Kigali.

This will be Coach Obradovic Tomislav first test against a Tunisian club following the team’s arrival in Tunis on Monday.

Rwanda is currently camping in Tunisia and they are expected to play three other Tunisian league clubs before heading off to Egypt.

In early January the team will head off for Cairo where they are expected to play two friendly games against the Egyptian U-20 side.

Hosts Rwanda, opens the competition against Mali at Amahoro stadium on January 18, 2009 at Amahoro stadium before another cracker sees Ghana taking on arch rivals Cameroon.

Rwanda needs only to reach the semi-finals of next year’s African Youth Championships to be assured of a place at the Fifa U-20 World Youth Championships finals to be hosted by Egypt.
