League champions Gisagara volleyball are in advanced talks to sign right attacker Nelson Murangwa after the Rwanda international failed to secure a visa to join Romanian first division club Tricolorul LMV Ploiesti.
The 24-year-old was supposed to join Tricolorul LMV Ploiesti in July on a one-year contract, but he did not travel after being denied a Romanian visa, meaning he missed the start of the new season, which began in September.
Gisagara VC head coach Fidele Nyirimana confirmed to Times Sport on Thursday that, "We’re already in talks with Nelson (Murangwa) to play for us next season as he and his manager continue to look for another team for him in Europe.”
Murangwa said, "After failing to get the Visa to join Tricolorul LMV Ploiesti, there is a possibility to stay here for one season. I have not yet made up my mind regarding my next move, but if talks go well, I may join Gisagara.”
Debutants Gisagara shocked Kirehe VC to win the national league playoff finals and will represent Rwanda at next year’s CAVB Club Championships.
