Title contenders AS Kigali will take on Espoir FC on Wednesday at Kamarampaka Stadium in Rusizi when the Azam Rwanda Premier League returns after international break.
The head coach, Eric Nshimiyimana, said the ten-day break will not affect his players although some of them were on national duty and helped Rwanda to qualify for the 2018 African Nations Championship finals due to be held in Morocco, at the expense of Ethiopia.
"As the league returns, we need to make sure we are fresh and ready to maintain our rhythm, we need to win this game (against Espoir) and keep our eyes on the top of the table,” said the former APR FC and Amavubi midfielder.
He added, "We have tried to prepare the team well, we will continue doing so, and I believe we will achieve our target depending on everyone’s effort throughout the season,” he added.
AS Kigali thrashed Gicumbi 4-0 in their last league outing and are currently in 7th place with 7 points from four matches, while Espoir are bottom of the table with three points after 3 draws and a loss.
In other matches, sixth-placed APR FC, with seven points, will meet 4th placed Bugesera, who are second from bottom, at Kigali Stadium.
Meanwhile, joint table leaders Police FC will be up against defending champions Rayon Sports who are in eighth-place at Kigali Stadium on Thursday.
