Kenyan politicians should avoid polarising the nation

RE: "Kenyans should put country first regardless of poll outcome” (The New Times, October 27). While democracy is good, it has been abused so much in Kenya to the detriment of unity of the country. Everybody seems to be right and no one wants to cede ground for the sake of the country. What has made matters worse is trying to prescribe a judicial remedy to a political problem. It only results in politicisation of judiciary and erosion of confidence in this vital state institution.
Politicians should also stop radicalising their supporters, right now we have a legion of supporters who are ready to die in defence of their tribal kingpins – at the expense of nationhood.
