Police FC striker Moro Sumaila has vowed to score more goals after ending his drought with a brace against Gorilla.
The Ghanaian centre forward was back to his prime as his second half brace propelled Police FC to an emphatic 2-0 win over Gorilla FC in the Peace Cup quarter final first leg held at Kigali Pele Stadium on Wednesday, February 14.
Sumaila, 28, was excited to have his name on the scoresheet again, having last found the back of the net on December 8, 2023 against Etoile de l’Est in the Primus National League. He had since gone 13 games without scoring.
"It has been a tough season for me and I am happy I got the needed goals. My dream is to score more goals before the season ends and I will continue to work hard for the team," Sumaila told Times Sport.
"I am glad that I scored twice. It was a difficult game but we persevered and got the job done."
The Ghanaian joined Police FC in September 2023 but he missed the first four games to sort contract disputes with former club Etincelles.
He was previously a transfer target of both AS Kigali and Rayon Sports.
