Shortly after shooting a music video for his Afro remix, featuring Ugandan star Eddy Kenzo, Mani Martin embarked on a countrywide concert tour dubbed Afro Album Tour.
The tour kicked off on September 30 in Rubavu, Northern Province. The singer, real name Martin Maniraruta, staged a show at the University of Technology and Business (UTB) Rubavu campus.
Next, the singer travelled to the Southern Province district of Huye, where he staged a concert at Inzu Mberabyombi on October 13.
On October14, the Afro Album Tour headed to Musanze district in the Northern Province. The show was staged at the Mukungwa Riverside Bar.
"The experience in the provinces so far is amazing and the turn up is great. I am so blessed to receive so much love from people of different generations –old, middle aged and very young people are coming to my shows,” an excited Mani Martin explained shortly after his album tour in Musanze.
"I can’t forget the very old mum in Huye who said it was her very first time to see an artist face to face! She is old to the point she couldn’t stand up to dance, but she used her arms to show her happiness for the music,” he added.
This weekend (Saturday October 21), the Afro Album Tour heads to Rusizi district in the Western Province, with a show at Motel Rubavu.
The tour will culminate in a grand live concert at the Kigali Serena Hotel on November 4.
The Serena concert will also double as the official launch of the Afro album, which the singer dropped late last year.
Some of the songs on the 15-track album include Afro, Africa Ndota, Mwalimu, Kinyaga, Rubanda, Umumararungu, Ndaraye, Karibagiza and Same Room among others.
Afro is the title track, and by far the biggest hit on the album. Mid last month, Mani Martin shot a video clip to the song’s video, which features Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo. The video too will be unveiled at the Kigali concert on November 4th.
The show will also feature guest appearances by the Kesho Band, Yemba Voice, Christopher, Sintex, Yverry and Inkindi Itatse.
