Dear Counsellor,
My husband recently found out that the man who raised him is not his biological father. This shocking information was news to his father too at some point. Their relationship, however, is as solid as ever and they’ve managed to move past it. He has fallen out with his mother though and refuses to speak to her. Also, everytime my husband is home, he keeps talking about how women can’t be trusted and that our own kids should be taken for a DNA test. I have never cheated on my husband but I find this very disrespectful. Giving in to his demands will give him the right to disrespect me again and if I don’t, it is like I have something to hide. The truth is, he has become another person, always complaining about women and going as far as insulting his own mother. I don’t like it one bit. How can I handle this situation because I’m losing my patience with him.
Eleanor
