Across the world, people commemorate this special day by exchanging gifts, and affectionate gestures with their partners. Many couples opt for romantic dinners at restaurants, luxurious stays at hotels, or heartfelt exchanges of messages, all in a bid to celebrate their love and appreciation for one another.

For those with a passion for both music and culinary delights, what could be more enchanting than a duet performance by singers Mike Kayihura and Kivumbi King?

Set against the romantic backdrop of Atelier du Vin's Valentine's Dinner, hosted by Belgian chefs, this musical soirée promises a "lovers' evening” on Wednesday, February 14th.

Commencing at 6 pm, guests will be treated to a five-course dinner accompanied by a complimentary drink, serenaded by the performances of Mike Kayihura, Kivumbi King, and Milly's Band. But the festivities don't end there—following the dinner, an afterparty awaits, beginning at 9 pm and lasting into the late hours, with DJs Tyga and Flexx playing music to keep the celebration going.

In an exclusive interview with The New Times, Mike Kayihura and Kivumbi King provided insights into what attendees can expect on this special day of love.

"Expect an evening filled with exceptional music," remarked Mike Kayihura. "Performing alongside Kivumbi is always a joy, and we've prepared a mix of original songs and covers to captivate the audience. It's going to be an unforgettable experience."

Kivumbi King echoed this sentiment, "the collaboration between Mike and myself is something truly special," he shared. "We're bringing together our respective followings to create a magical atmosphere, not just for couples but for music lovers of all kinds."

Reflecting on the significance of Valentine's Day in Rwandan culture, Kivumbi King noted the universal appeal of celebrating love. "Valentine's Day is a lively occasion here," he explained. "While it's traditionally associated with couples, the spirit of love extends to people of all ages and relationship statuses. Everyone is welcome to join us for an evening of good vibes and great music."

As they anticipate the event, the artistes extend a warm invitation to all music enthusiasts, "whether you're a long-time fan or new to our music, this is an opportunity to experience something special, fan favorites like Zuba, Anytime will be played" Kayihura remarked. "I am thrilled to debut my latest track, 'Wait,' and share it with an audience for the first time. It's going to be a night to remember,” Kivumbi added.

During a press interview, Daddy Caspary, the establishment manager, along with one of the Belgian chefs, expressed: "What's going to be special here is the food. We're aiming to offer a unique fusion experience, blending European and African flavors to tantalize the taste buds. We are all about presentation and service, aiming to elevate the dining experience in Rwanda. We've also arranged for love focused musical performances, because Valentine's Day is all about love. It's truly going to be a magical event, and I believe everyone will enjoy it."

Furthermore, he added, "We're offering special promotions as well. With every purchase of one bottle of champagne, wine, sparkling, or cognac, the next one will be complimentary—a Valentine's special treat for our guests."
