SIX-TIME league champions Rayon Sport take on relegation battling side SC Kiyovu in a tricky national league fixture this afternoon at Mironko grounds, Gikondo.

Rayon Sport searching for their first league title in four years want nothing short of three points in order to stay in touching distance with table leaders APR and Atraco.

Rayon are two points behind Atraco while they trail leaders APR by 4 points. However Rayon has a game in hand after being involved in a motor accident on their way to face Kibuye.

The Blues whose game against Kibuye has been postponed to an unknown date by Ferwafa are expected to recover in time to run over the fallen giants who are currently rooted at the bottom of the league table with 3 points from a possible 30 points.

Rayon is expected to miss the services of striker Joseph Kaniki who is still nursing an ankle injury he sustained during the accident earlier this week.

Marcel Lomami, Bonaventure Hategikimana and Abdul Uwimana are all fit to start today’s game after going through late fitness tests.

Coach Raoul Shungu who is now under no pressure after lifting the side to third position has a full strength side at his disposal against Kiyovu who are yet to win a game this season.

Elsewhere, league leaders APR hosts Mukura at Ferwafa grounds. The military is currently topping the standings with 23 points.

Atraco play away to Marines at Umuganda stadium in another tricky tie which the taxi men can’t afford to lose after defeats at the hands of APR and Rayon.

Moral at minnows, Marines is also still low after a 1-0 loss at the hands of bottom side Le Jeunesse.

Fourth-placed Police hosts Electrogaz at Camp Kigali grounds while Amagaju travels to Kibuye for their crucial tie due at Gatwaro stadium.

Jeunesse played its home fixture against AS Kigali yesterday at Mironko stadium but results could be obtained by press time.
