Jean d’Amour Habakurama, the second winner of a new motorcycle in the ongoing Airtel Tunga promotion, said he will use the bike to expand his moto taxi business. The small businessman from Ngoma District also won a motorcycle during the same promotion last year.
"I have so far bought Rwf1.2 million plot of land using the proceeds from the moto taxi business I started. Now that they are two, I will be able to save enough money and develop my plot of land probably next year,” said Habakurama while receiving the bike.
The entrepreneur said that he invested between Rwf170,000 and Rwf200,000 over the past two weeks in the promo.
"This was worth it and increased my chances of winning. I also invested about Rwf250,000 during last year’s promotion. Some people fear to participate in the promo, saying the winners are already known. That’s not true. I don’t know anyone in Airtel, but I now won two motorcycles because I invested in enough in the campaigns,” said Habakurama.
Airtel’s Crysante Turatimana said the Tunga promotion aims at changing people’s lives and appreciate clients.
To participate
Airtel subscribers can take part in the promo by calling 155 or sending an SMS with number ‘1’ to 155 and follow prompts. There are 12 motors worth Rwf1.2 million each and a Rwf20 million grand prize car to be won in the promotion. Customers also stand to win Rwf2,000 worth of airtime daily in the three-month customer drive that started on September 3 and ends on December 3.
