National Commission on the Fight against Genocide to initiate ‘day of Hope’

The National Day of Hope is to be initiated by the National Commission to fight against Genocide and will be celebrated each year after the Genocide commemoration.

The National Day of Hope is to be initiated by the National Commission to fight against Genocide and will be celebrated each year after the Genocide commemoration.

The Executive Secretary Commission, Jean de Dieu Mucyo, revealed this during yesterday’s consultative meeting with representatives of the local and international non-governmental bodies (NGO’s) who have prevention and fighting Genocide in their programs.

Mucyo urged participants to unite and set principals that will guide all bodies that train the community on fighting the Genocide dogma, and prepare the community to have confidence for the future,” Mucyo said.

The NGO’s representatives were invited to elect five people who will be able to join the consultative council as stipulated by the law states,

According to Mucyo, the commission will only work with registered NGO’s to curb on unregistered going around blackmailing survivors and taking money from them.
