Mini-chess is good for kids
Good article. On this last question of how girls could be encouraged to participate in sci-tech, there is a very interesting programme called “minichess” that’s taught to 5-9-year old kids (both boys and girls). It is a new methodology of teaching basic maths and sciences through chess.

Minichess has amazing results on academic performance. Indeed, girls who play chess at a young age are most likely to study science and technology courses.
