KCB Bank Rwanda has appointed George Odhiambo (above) the acting managing director. Odhiambo replaces Maurice Toroitich who has been at the helm of the bank for nearly nine years.
KCB Bank Rwanda has appointed George Odhiambo (above) the acting managing director. Odhiambo replaces Maurice Toroitich who has been at the helm of the bank for nearly nine years.
Odhiambo has been the head of business development and client services at the bank before being appointed to the new role.
He has 18 years of experience in commercial banking. He joined KCB Bank Rwanda in September 2013 and was prior to that the head of business analytics and transformation at KCB Bank Kenya.
Odhiambo had earlier worked as branch manager for Standard Chartered Bank Kenya, area manager at Barclays Bank Kenya, and head of business analytics, East and West Africa at Barclays Africa.
He holds a BSc in Mathematical Statistics from University of Nairobi and an MSc in Pure Mathematics and post-graduate diploma in corporate governance from KCA University, Kenya. Commenting on the appointment, Odhiambo said: "I am ready to champion the bank’s ambition in facilitating major infrastructure and financial technology development in Rwanda. I want to keep this momentum going in the immediate and long-term.”
"I am confident about the future of the bank in terms of profitability and its contribution to Rwanda’s economic development,” said, Maurice Toroitich, the outgoing managing director.
