He is the brains behind ‘I am the Future’, a countrywide music competition and Miracle Transporters are the co-organisers of the competition that will see the winner bag Rwf15million and the second runner-up Rwf7million.Themed ‘My Talent, My Opportunity’, the competition will be held in different parts of the country, with the aim of detecting and promoting new talent countrywide. Tuyishimire’s participation in the Tusker Project Fame (TPF 2010) and the experience in the academy challenged him to introduce a similar project back home."I realised how much impact the academy had on the participants. I was inspired to come up with something a bit similar that would help find untapped talent.”The recently concluded phase A of the competition has seen 36 people selected from 18 sites toured over the last six weeks. Two best performers from each site are already in studio for an audio and video recording that will go on until August 20.Phase B will include the selected talents from Phase A, who will be taken into a music academy from which only five contestants will be picked for the finale. At the grand finale, the best two contestants will be awarded.editorial@newtimes.co.rw
