SOUTH Africa’s U-20 team, Amajita, will hold a one-week training camp in Kigali in preparation for the 16th African Youth Championship set for January 18-February 1 in Rwanda.

Amajita are currently taking part in the Cosafa Under-20 championships in Kimberley, South Africa.

According to Kickoff.com, the South African youths will not be given any rest as they will go straight into another camp.

The Amajita will be in Rwanda, hosts of next year’s championships, from December 15-22.

Coach Serame Letsoaka confirmed the development saying that they will also have a stopover in Kenya because it is close to Rwanda.

He said that the metropolitan under-20 games had also given them the chance to look at different players, some of whom did not play in the qualifiers of the 2009 Rwanda games.

South is drawn in group B against favorites, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Fifa U-20 World Cup hosts Egypt while hosts Rwanda, Mali, Cameroon and Ghana were placed in Group A.
