My agents report transparency in polls - Mpayimana

Independent presidential candidate Phillipe Mpayimana has said that his 100 representative at different polling stations across the country are reporting a transparent and smooth election process.

12:30pm, Nyarugenge: Independent presidential candidate Phillipe Mpayimana has said that his 100 representative at different polling stations across the country are reporting a transparent and smooth election process.

He was speaking from the Camp Kigali polling station in Nyarugenge District where he cast he arrived to vote at around midday Friday.

After voting, Mpayimana told the media that he is very happy to vote, let alone being one of the three people on the ballot, something he said was a milestone in his life. 

"I have my 100 representatives deployed across the country who are reporting to me in real time. They are all telling me the process is going well. If the same reports continue like that, I will undoubtedly welcome any results from the elections- either a win or loss,” he said.

Mpayimana commended the conduct of the National Electoral Commission in the run up and during the election exercise, saying that everything was well organized.

Polling volunteers at Camp Kigali where Mpayimana voted from say that over 4,000 voters were registered here.

Mpayimana contested against the incumbent, President Paul Kagame of RPF Inkotanyi and Frank Habineza, the flagbearer of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda.
