Azam Rwanda Premier League side Mukura Victory Sport on Friday confirmed their first summer signing Rachid Mutebi from rivals Gicumbi FC on a two-year deal.
The Huye-based side confirmed the striker’s arrival on Friday evening on their website in an official statement, but without giving much detail regarding the contract details.
"Mukura executive committee is delighted to announce to their fans that they have signed striker Rachid Mutebi who scored 11 goals for Gicumbi FC in the 2016/17 season.”
The Ugandan forward scored 13 goals in total including 11 in the league and two in Peace Cup goals and now becomes the first signing for new head coach Francis Haringingo, who was appointed to replace Belgian Ivan Minnaert, early this month.
The 20-year-old Mutebi has previously played for Bidico FC, Sadolin FC and SC Villa, all in Uganda before crossing to Rwanda in 2015 to join Gicumbi FC.
Mukura VS had a dismal campaign last season finishing in a disappointing 12th place with 32 points, five points above the relegation zone.
