Rwanda women’s sitting volleyball team qualified for the Paris Paralympic Games 2024 after beating Kenya 3-0 sets in the final of the Africa Zone Sitting Volleyball that concluded in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday, February 3.
With the ticket to Paris, Rwanda women will be making their third consecutive appearance in the Paralympic Games, after representing Africa in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

Mosaad Rashad’s ladies quickly grabbed their first set 25-12, then took the second 25-14 before getting the winning set 25-21 to win the continental tournament in style.
The victory saw them book the only ticket that was available for the Paris Paralympics.
Meanwhile, Rwanda men’s team won’t be in Paris in August after failing to win the ticket following Friday’s controversial 3-2 set semifinal loss to Morocco.
It’s a result that coach Rashad attributed to poor refereeing which came against his men from the very beginning of the game.
"I want to say sorry that we are losing but, sorry, we are not playing volleyball. This match was not volleyball. The referee gave it to Morocco. A lot of points [wrongfully given to Morocco] changed the score, so how can we win this way?” Rashad claimed after the match on Friday.
Rashad’s men consoled themselves with a third place finish after beating Algeria in three straight sets on Saturday.
The 2024 Paralympic Games will take place in Paris, France, from August 28 to September 8.
