RE: "Rwanda, US have common values, envoy says” (The New Times, July 8).

Well someone should have reminded the envoy that to this day, people of African descent still aren’t free, let alone July 4, 1776 when we were still chained into slavery while being raped, lynched and sold like livestock.

Black people really need to stop this need to please Western powers with the vile hatred they’ve shown us throughout the centuries.
