RE: "Developer slashes prices for Vision City homes” (The New Times, July 11).

Only recently, the Government of Rwanda launched the Affordable Housing Fund aimed at supporting prospective affordable home buyers.

Now, the price cut announced by Lilian Mupende, Chief Executive, Ultimate Developers Limited, is good news for prospective buyers in this segment, too.

As Mupende explained, this cut was made possible because of the incentives offered by the Government.

It has always been the endeavor of the Government of Rwanda to facilitate common citizens whenever they are beset with some challenge or the other.

I vividly remember how the Rwanda Development Board stepped in some years ago to stop a bank auctioning mortgaged land because the houses, which were already constructed and sold to various investors, would then be the centre of a dispute.

With such initiatives, Rwanda will always be a safe haven for those who decide to invest in the country.
