RPF – Inkotanyi presidential candidate, Paul Kagame has once again pledged to his supporters in the country and Nyaruguru residents specifically, that he will not disappoint them once reelected.

Kagame was addressing thousands of people who turned up for his campaign rally in Nyagisozi Sector, Nyaruguru district.

The incumbent said that the faith Rwandans had put in him to an extent of pushing for a referendum to amend the constitution—consequently allowing him to run for a third term—is a true testament of what they expect him to achieve once reelected.

"You have put your trust in me. I will never disappoint or fail you,” Kagame said.

About 4 million Rwandan petitioned parliament in 2015 asking for constitutional review to change a provision that limited Kagame from running for another term.

According to the current voters list, that number adds up to about 60 percent of the voting population.

It is from this background that the RPF-Inkotanyi candidate is "confident” to win the August 4, Presidential elections.

"Today is not just about elections. It is about examining how far Rwanda has come and how we can work together going forward,” Kagame added.

He pledged "further transformation” in education sector, youth empowerment as well infrastructure, "to ensure that every Rwandan is able to take a step further in their day-to-day life.”

He noted that RPF is ready to consolidate Rwandan unity and economic transformation, for these are the key pillars of the vision a country has, he said.

"No one else could have done this for us but ourselves. We learned this lesson the hard way. I can confidently say that each one of you, in the last 23 years, has a testimony that they have made a step forward.

"Your presence here today is proof of a nation that belongs to every citizen, a nation that leaves no one behind,” Kagame said.

"Rwandans were taught to hate and kill each other. Today, there is no room for that in our country”.

The President urged his supporters to turn up in big numbers on Election Day and "prove” what they meant when they called for a referendum.
