RE: "Envoy: RwandAir will deepen Rwanda, UK ties” (The New Times, July 12).

It is very encouraging to read how the national carrier, RwandAir, is playing a key role in the country’s development.

Air connectivity is of prime importance when it comes to enhancing trade, tourism, investments and cultural engagements between countries.

It is impressive to map the consistent and steady progress being made by RwandAir in terms of adding important sectors to the growing network of the airline.

Only on April 5, this year, a 24 member Indian delegation was able to fly the dream of Africa on RwandAir’s first ever direct flight from Mumbai to Kigali.

The flying time between these two great cities has been drastically reduced.

Since then, the airline has shown impressive results connecting Mumbai, the commercial capital of India, with not just Kigali, but with all destinations on the African continent.

This will facilitate the process of making the spotlessly clean City of Kigali a MICE hub.

Close on the heels of London, The New Times has reported that Brussels (Belgium) will be the next addition, with of course the United States of America to be added in the near future.
