Gasogi United manager Charles Kakooza Nkuliza confirmed that the team will take part in Saturday's, February 3, league game against Kiyovu Sports at Kigali Pele stadium, despite his announcement regarding the team's disbandment five days earlier.

On January 27, the manager, commonly known as KNC, informed the press about the decision to disband the team immediately after what he described as "corrupt refereeing" during a 1-0 league loss to AS Kigali at Kigali Pele Stadium.
During an interview on 'One Sports Show', a sports programme on Radio One, a station he owns, Nkuliza said that his team will continue playing. The businessman insisted that he will keep seeking for changes and fighting to address the mistakes affecting local football.

According to FERWAFA Secretary General Adolphe Kalisa, the Football Association informed KNC that Gasogi United must continue participating in all competitions until its request to withdraw its membership is either granted or rejected.
"After receiving his letter on Tuesday, the process started, but there are certain procedures and conditions that must be reviewed," Kalisa told Times Sport on Friday.
"Our response to him was that he is not allowed to withdraw the team from any competition it is supposed to participate in. Concerned departments are working on it. But it doesn't look as something going to happen soon, or easy."
Times Sport tried to contact KNC for further information, but he noted that he was unable to respond to any questions regarding Gasogi.
It is not the first time KNC has considered, or threatened, withdrawing his team from the league due to alleged corrupt or poor refereeing.
In January 2022, he threatened to pull the team out of the league but quickly changed his mind.
