RE: "Rwanda, JICA sign deal to improve coffee value chain” (The New Times, July 3).
Over the last several years, India has seen a very sharp spurt in coffee houses mushrooming up all over the cities.
While Ethiopian and Kenyan coffee have already found a place in these premium cafes, there is a notable absence of Rwandan coffee.
As Sandrine Urujeni, Deputy CEO of NAEB, cited, Japan will deploy coffee experts under the agreement to equip local sector players with skills and knowledge on how best Rwanda can enhance coffee production and marketing.
We would like to extend, through your newspaper, an invitation to Urujeni and her team to participate at the forthcoming World Tea and Coffee Expo 2017, which will be held in Mumbai from 16-18 November this year and market Rwandan coffee here in India.
This international expo, coupled with the JICA-NAEB partnership, could well open up a new and lucrative market for the export of Rwandan coffee and boost coffee export revenues even further.
