Kenyan Recording label, Grandpa Records,is set to open shop in Rwanda. The label house confirmed early this week that it’s coming to Kigali soon.

"All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work. Rwanda here we come,” the music label wrote on their Face book page.

Grandpa Records’ chief executive, Noah Yusuf also known as Refigah, visited Rwanda in December 2016, and met with artistes and investors willing to work with the studio as part of his plan to nurture regional music.

Refigah had then told the Kenyan media that they would begin working with Rwandan artistes earlier this year.

He added that they have a new team of professional and outstanding producers to give music lovers the best sound in the market and high quality production.

"When an artiste records in our studio, the song will be ready within seven working days. We are also offering more services from voice training and song writing skills. Grandpa has grown and now we have a bigger team on board to help us attain our objectives,” Refigah said.

The Kibera-based record label is in the process of reclaiming its position in the music recording world after a number of setbacks and exit of some of its stars like Kenrazy, DNA, Visita, Kiddis the Jembe, and the queen of Grandpa Sosuun, who is the wife to Kenrazy among others.

Grandpa Records has won a number of awards for the ‘Best Record Label in East Africa including Wynton House of Music Awards, Golden Mic Awards, Nyota awards among others. It has produced songs for both established and upcoming artistes in the region.
