Presently, different primary schools have embraced the use of computers as a way of improving how learners are taught, and this eventually has given pupils an opportunity to gain acquaintance with technology in the world where computers have become common just like a pencil and paper.

Presently, different primary schools have embraced the use of computers as a way of improving how learners are taught, and this eventually has given pupils an opportunity to gain acquaintance with technology in the world where computers have become common just like a pencil and paper.
This is primarily done through computer labs where pupils go for a computer class, just like any other academic subject. However, according to pupils, the computer class is always their favourite session, mainly because of its associated benefits, for instance provision of different information that boost creative thinking, innovation and acquaintance with the world around them.
On the other hand, teachers look at computers in schools as a potential and effective academic tool, that will help pupils to enjoy and make most out of their school time.
"Computers, and ICT have made the learning process a lot simpler and resourceful, giving learners’ access to tools and methods of communication unavailable offline. Not forgetting that it has made research a lot easier for pupils than before. Today we look at computers as both learning and teaching tools,” says Charles Sinamenye, head-teacher of UmucoMwiza Primary School.
Nadia Uwase is an ICT enthusiastic 12 years old-primary five pupil whose passion for technology has made her look forward to pursuing a career in ICT in future. She believes ICT provides a lot of opportunities for creative learners like her.
"From our computer classes, I have come up with several good ideas, and realised that with technology you can change the world around you and make life easier. It has increased my passion for ICT; I find doing work with computers fascinating, and there is no doubt I will pursue an ICT related course,” she says.
Educators say that pupils with advanced level of e-maturity show an increase in performances at school compared to the others.
