MTN has been a good partner in the Rwandan renaissance for ten years now. To commemorate this, MTN is celebrating its 10th Anniversary with every Rwandan.

MTN has always had a strong sense of corporate responsibility, and these celebrations for its customers are testimony to that fact.

According to MTN Rwanda Chief Executive Officer Themba Khumalo, other activities that have been undertaken to commemorate their 10th anniversary include: sponsoring annual corporate leagues, including a recent golf tournament, which was successfully held in October and an HIV/Aids voluntary testing and counseling programme that was coordinated by the MTN Human Resource department on November 28, aimed at sensitising on HIV and Aids and commemorating the annual World Aids Day.

Further, MTN Rwanda will, starting on the 8th December, participate in a week long campaign, in partnership with the National Police, dubbed the "Stop and Talk. The campaign is aimed at sensitising the general public on the dangers of driving while using the cell phone.

Yvonne Manzi Makolo, the MTN Rwanda Sales and Marketing senior manager, said the campaign will involve several activities like painting zebra crossings, public posters, hosting programme on local radio stations and concerts that will be conducted throughout the festive season.

However, as MTN Rwanda engages in these serious, and needed programme, on the lighter side, and as a way of sharing MTN Rwanda’s 10th Anniversary with everyone, MTN Rwanda is giving Rwandans fantastic entertainment.

Renowned reggae musician Overville Richard Burrell, a.k.a Shaggy, will be in our midst and will be treating his fans to a blast of ‘bombastic’ reggae tunes.
