Whoever thinks that Coach Obradovic Tomislav will guide the under 20 national team to next year’s African youth championship due in Kigali is wrong.

Considering the duration the Croat has undertaken to prepare the national youthful squad, our country is not in position to even qualify at the group stages of the African competition.

They have only trained for two months now and the training sessions they have been undertaking are not regular, compared to what Nigeria undertook in their campaign to win five-record African youth championship titles.

Unless something is done at this time, then everybody should not be surprised when Rwanda fails to reach even the semi-finals of the competition.

However, if at all Rwanda happens to qualify for the semi-finals of this competition, we will automatically qualify for next year’s Fifa World youth championship that will be hosted by Egypt.
