Rwandan envoy presents credentials in Zambia

Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Zambia, Monique Mukaruliza, on Wednesday presented her letters of credence to the President of Zambia, Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Zambia, Monique Mukaruliza, on Wednesday presented her letters of credence to the President of Zambia, Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

She is resident in the Zambian capital Lusaka.

The presentation ceremony, which was held at the State House in Lusaka, was followed by a private discussion in which Mukaruliza extended President Paul Kagame’s greetings to his counterpart.

"I was pleased to welcome HE Mrs. Monique Mukaruliza, High Commissioner-designate of Rwanda to Zambia,” President Lungu wrote on his Twitter timeline.

"Zambia attaches great importance to bilateral relations with Rwanda, based on mutual respect, trust and cooperation.”

"I look forward to the state visit of my dear brother, HE Paul Kagame to confer with him on areas of cooperation on common development agendas,” he added.

Former Minister of East African Community Affairs and former Mayor of the City of Kigali, Mukaruliza was appointed High Commissioner to Zambia by the cabinet meeting of the 3rd February 2017 and approved by the Senate on 15th of the same month.
