Rwanda Day celebrations give us all a sense of pride and faith in ourselves as a broken nation.
Having lived away from home for so long, I can attest to this truth. In the digital age, we have the technology to live stream it as it happens and we get a sense of almost physically being at that particular location.
It is such a great joy to see familiar faces from back in the day and realising how we all ended up in different parts of the world. It gives me particularly painful memories of what happened to us as a people but it shows me that we still remember who we are and we are determined to make it known!!
I love this day so much that I watch every celebration on repeat since its inception. That’s how spiritual it has become. TO ME!
