After successfully defending the Genocide memorial tournament last week, Police have turned their sights to defending the league title as the league resumes this weekend at various grounds across the country.

Antoine Ntabanganyimana’s side successfully defended the Genocide memorial title after beating archrivals APR 36-21 in the final to win the tournament for the fourth year in a row.

With four games remaining in the 2017 season, second-placed Police are keen to maintain pressure on league leaders APR as they bid for a fourth consecutive league title.

Ntabanganyimana’s side has 39 points, just one point behind APR, who have however, played one game more.

Both teams will play two games over this weekend with Police travelling to Rubavu where they will take on seventh-placed College Inyemeramihigo on Saturday, while league leaders APR will face-off Groupe Scholaire Rambura in Nyabihu District.

On Sunday, Police will play against Rambura while APR will take on College Inyemeramihigo.

"Our focus in now the league title, we have two games this weekend, which we must win and wait to play our game in hand, which if we win, we’ll go back to the top,” said Ntabanganyimana.
