Rwandan striker Arthur Gitego has arrived in Nairobi to undergo a medical at Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards.

Gitego had five months left on his Marines contract but both parties mutually agreed to part ways.

The 20-year-old striker revealed that he has arrived in Kenya to have his medical as a move to Leopards beckons.

"I am in Kenya for my transfer to Leopards. I will have my medicals on Monday, January 29. After that, I will sign a two-year deal," Gitego told Times Sport.

"I had many offers but I like the AFC Leopards project and I believe I can contribute my maximum best."

Gitego has previously also played for Heroes FC, Kiyovu Sports as well as Gicumbi. On the international scene, he made his senior debut for Rwanda against Zimbabwe at Huye Stadium in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in November 2023.
