Rwanda’s Canada-based basketball star Jean-Victor Mukama has joined Rwanda Energy Group (REG) basketball club for the 2023-24 season which tips off on February 9.

Club head coach, Charles Mushumba confirmed to Times Sport that Mukama signed a one-year-contract.

The 29-year-old played in Patriots basketball last season.

REG are also closer to acquiring the services of Rwanda international Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Gasana.

According to Mushumba, the club and player are close to agreeing personal terms before the star shooting guard signs puts pen to paper.

Meanwhile, veteran basketball player Aristide Mugabe has completed his move to Kepler as coach player, bringing his successful eight-year spell at Patriots to an end.

Mugabe will also be assisting Mandy Lutwama Juruni, the Ugandan tactician joined Kepler as head coach.
