Editor,RE: "Taxi-moto operations to go cashless under new system” (The New Times, May 22)

Using GPS points/track on a super hilly country to calculate distance is not a clever move for motorcycle operators as 100 metres on a flat terrain would equate for instance to 150 m on a steep mountainous terrain since it doesn’t take into consideration altitude.

These poor guys (the Taxi Moto operators) will probably lose out a lot at the end of the day, week or month.

For customers, there won’t be any room for bargaining with the fixed fares which is the case currently.

For sure the idea is good but let us see where it will lead the country...
