RE: "My solution to North Korea” (The New Times, April 30). Why should Kim Jong Un trust Donald Trump or any US administration official to offer a hand of friendship after denuclearizing their country? After ensuring that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, then President George Bush invaded the country; Libya was also invaded after it renounced its nuclear weapons research and development programme.  The chaos that followed is there for everyone to see.  

If nuclear weapons are a danger to the world, America and other so-called superpowers should be scaling down their stocks but they are ironically updating the arsenal instead.

So why should anyone listen to America in the matter?
